Your accommodations…..

Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel, Livingstone (2 nights)

Surrounded by the tranquillity of Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve and located just 15 minutes from the Falls themselves, Stanley & Livingstone invites you to explore or just relax in one of the continent’s most loved destinations. As a contemporary boutique hotel set on a private game reserve within the vicinity of Victoria Falls, it’s both a quiet place to pause and a base for adventure – to be found just minutes away…

Mfuwe Lodge, South Luangwa National Park (2 nights)

Award-winning safari lodge set in the most prolific game area of the South Luangwa. The perfect place to enjoy excellent game viewing, recharge your batteries, or to start and finish your journey in South Luangwa.

Ease yourself into Luangwa life with a stay at the award-winning Mfuwe Lodge. Set inside the park, just five minutes drive from the main gate, the lodge’s allure is instantly obvious. Beneath a canopy of ebony and mahogany, its eighteen air-conditioned chalets are arranged around the banks of two lagoons where an endless stream of wildlife will keep you enthralled as you lounge on the open deck or take a dip in the swimming pool. The airy interior of the lodge is an exquisite complement to its natural surroundings.

This region of the park is renowned for its prolific game – giraffe, hippos, buffalo, antelope, and crocodile are constant visitors to Mfuwe Lodge’s lagoon, whilst in November the local elephants regularly wander right through the lobby, lured by a nearby wild mango tree. Whether you stay overnight, or just have lunch en route to a Bushcamp, Mfuwe Lodge’s relaxed charm and enviable surroundings make it the perfect stopover. Voted Best Lodge in Zambia in 2009 Mfuwe Lodge also offers you the chance to relax at its Bush-Spa or buy a few mementos of your time in Zambia at our curio shop.

Activities: The game-viewing potential at Mfuwe Lodge and the surrounding area is second-to-none. Walking safaris can be arranged on request, but the majority of outings are game drives, allowing guests to explore as much of this prolific region of the Luangwa Valley as possible. Drives are led by our experienced team of guides, setting out at first light, and then again in the late afternoon when the wildlife is at its most active. After sundowners, spotlights are used to pick out a new cast of nocturnal creatures.

Kapamba Bushcamp, South Luangwa National Park (3 nights)

A remote and romantic camp situated in a prime location on the Kapamba River

In a remote corner of the South Luangwa National Park lies Kapamba, a camp that combines the isolation and superb game-viewing opportunities of a true bushcamp with a touch of… dare we say it… luxury.

Set on the banks of the shallow, spring-fed eponymous river, Kapamba is surrounded by some of the park’s richest wildlife. Watching an elephant take a dip in the river can be quite an experience when you’re lounging in your own private plunge pool. The central bar and dining room is positioned under a huddle of matumi and sausage trees, with a wide deck that stretches out with views of the Kapamba River. And if that’s still not close enough for you, why not enjoy your G&T from the middle of the river itself, your feet dipped in the cool, crystal shallows.

Activities: Get out into the bush and explore the rich diversity of the surrounding area on a morning walking safari, and then later in the day, jump into a Land Rover for an afternoon/evening game drive. On special occasions we can also arrange an afternoon wading through the cool waters of the Kapamba where a scenic sundowner or special meal will be waiting for you.

When the weather is right, you can spend siesta time in the Kapamba River right in front of camp!

Time + Tide Chongwe Camp, Lower Zambezi National Park (3 nights)

Dotted along the forested riverbanks, Time + Tide Chongwe Camp is surrounded by wild beauty. Set at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers against a beautiful mountainous backdrop, the camp offers the best views in the Lower Zambezi.

A grove of towering winterthorn trees creates a shady haven for the camp below. Guests aren’t the only ones that enjoy them though – elephants frequently wander through camp to feed on the many seed pods dropped from above. Each tent offers panoramic views along the Chongwe River. Sit out front in comfortable lounge chairs and watch the abundant wildlife visiting the banks to drink and graze on the lush grasses.

Activities: During your stay, enjoy our impressive variety of safari activities, created for the ultimate exploration of this magnificent African paradise. By land, you can enjoy game drives and walking safaris, or take to the rivers and explore with boat cruises, canoeing safaris and tiger-fishing.

Back in camp, the brand new wildlife hide is great for photography, especially rare nocturnal creatures.

Time + Tide King Lewanika, Liuwa Plain National Park (3 nights)

One of the earliest protected areas in Africa, Liuwa Plain was first preserved by the head of the Lozi people, King Lewanika. The plains are unspoilt and exclusive with rare game and a rich natural heritage. Here, on this broad grass canvas, the annual floodwaters host a pageant of wild beauty that throbs to the beat of the royal drums.

The villas offer total immersion in the vast landscape, allowing travellers to experience nature’s masterpiece in a meaningful way. With award-winning guides and intimate safari excursions, we bring unrivalled access and absolute exclusivity to the region. Experience the magic of Liuwa Plain, which is home to Africa’s second biggest wildebeest migration, magnificent birdlife, a growing cheetah population and the famed Lady Liuwa lion pride.

Activities: Included professionally guided day & night game drives, walking safaris, canoeing safaris (seasonal), spectacular wildflower blooms (seasonal),scenic helicopter flips and option to sleepout Under the Stars.

Mfuwe Lodge and Kapamba Bushcamp work closely with the expanding local community and with conservation organisations to develop projects that help conserve precious resources, support education, and generate a sustainable source of income to those who live around the Park. This includes much-needed help to two local schools: Chiwawatala Primary School in Mfuwe Village and Chilongozi Primary School, with guest stays contributing to sponsor pupils, teachers’ salaries, building of classrooms and staff houses, providing access to clean water, and transport for school children into the Park on educational game drives.

Your stay at Mfuwe Lodge and Kapamba Bushcamp also supports a tree-planting program through which approximately 500 trees per year are planted, and which serves to educate local youth about the importance of trees in the local ecosystem. The camps also fund-raise and provide logistical support to several conservation organisations that aim to tackle the threats posed to wildlife; supporting the South Luangwa Conservation Society, Zambian Carnivore Programme and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife. In recent years, camp management have also tried to make these properties as green as possible by introducing solar technology throughout.

Chongwe Camp and King Lewanika Lodge parent company supports local conservation management organisations in their anti-poaching, environmental education, human-wildlife conflict, and wildlife rehabilitation efforts. In 2019 alone, Time + Tide donated US $160,000 to these efforts and contributed over $500,000 to the national parks authorities through fees, levies and taxes – your stay at these safari properties ensures that such funding continues to support wildlife.

Through the Home-Based Education Programme (operated by Time + Tide) , camp guests make a phenomenal impact towards their provided individualised education plans for local Zambian children and their families with the objective of seeing 95% of these children enrol in primary schools. In 2019, the programme had a total of 163 children and 122 volunteer caregivers registered, with 63% of children enrolled in formal primary schools – a wonderful improvement on previous years rates.
