Situated in the most-Northern reaches of the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia a truly authentic safari experience awaits you in one of the most exclusive, remote and abundant game-viewing areas of Africa.

The lodge is built on the water’s edge amongst woodlands and some large Sausage & Mahogany Trees. Raised walkways link the main lodge to the individual suites. The lodge is unfenced and allow the wildlife to move freely though the area. The main lodge is a large open, spacious and airy thatched area with private nooks, seating areas and a pool. A well-stocked bar, real size snooker table, coffee station and a small intimate wildlife reading area form part of this offering. The openness of the lodge affords spectacular views of the plains with the constant presence of wildlife.

Game viewing during the dry season (May to October) is spectacular with lions, leopard, wild dog, large herds of elephant and buffalo, incredible bird viewing, unique Thornicroft’s Giraffe, Cookson’s Wildebeest and the Crawshay’s Zebra are but a few sightings to enjoy. Out of the dry season is also a spectacular time to visit, with lush green landscapes and new born animals dotting the area.

Lion Camp offers guided walking safaris or game drives with no more than 4 guests per activity and lead by well trained enthusiastic guides. Be your interest birds, wildlife or landscape, Lion Camp is a photographer’s dream.

Lion Camp are actively involved with the Mkasanga school in the community where most of the camp staff come from. Several upliftment projects, such as supporting the development of a computer facility at the school is key to Lion Camp’s contribution to the education of these children. Items from the “Pack for a Purpose” project is also sent to the school for distribution on a regular basis.

Lion Camp also offers 24 hours electricity sustainably powered to the camp by an inverter system, charged by solar panels. Local sustainably grown produce is used for meals and an advanced water filtration system helps provide the camp with clean water.
