Where you’ll be staying on this itinerary…

Situated on the Morrells estate amidst neatly trimmed gardens, our Farmhouse country accommodation brings with it a sense of yesteryear, having been built in the 1800s by the Dutch settlers. This was the first house built in Northcliff, a dairy farm at the time, which has now been lovingly restored by Mike and Bernice Morrell into an elegant retreat with seven beautifully decorated en suite bedrooms complete with the original wooden floors and pressed ceilings. Morrells Farmhouse exudes vintage charm of a bygone era. The house boasts a shady patio, as well as a cosy lounge and dining room area with built in fireplaces, available to in-house guests.

For those wishing to extend their stay in Johannesburg, day tours are available to take in some of our beautiful culture, such as Soweto, Pretoria, Cradle of Humankind and much more. Our team will be happy to discuss options with you.

Arathusa Safari Lodge is unique and highly sought-after by visitors because of its prime location within the Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the unfenced Kruger National Park. Together these two areas comprise one of South Africa’s most incredible and pristinely preserved wilderness sanctuaries. As part of the Sabi Sand Reserve and greater Kruger National Park, Arathusa is located in one of the world’s most abundant natural wilderness areas where hundreds of animal species roam free.

Arathusa offers an exceptional safari experience – expect a high concentration of an assortment of game, including the Big Five, and frequent leopard sightings. A large waterhole is situated in front of the lodge ensuring interesting game and bird viewing from the comfort of the camp.

Add to this the private luxury accommodations, exceptional service, great value for money and decadent spa treatments, and you have just a few of the things that put Arathusa Safari Lodge in a league of its own.

Inyati Game Lodge is situated in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Wildtuin which is a private game reserve sharing a common unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. It spans 50 000 hectares and is renowned for providing some of the best game viewing in Africa. The reserve is not open to the general public with each private lodge having exclusive traversing rights over their area.

Inyati’s rangers drive specially designed safari vehicles which are allowed off-road, ensuring you get exclusive and intimate game viewing opportunities.

The reserve has a dense concentration of wildlife and is home to the Big 5 – elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wild dogs and a vast variety of antelope and other species may also be closely observed, free roaming within their own territories. Inyati is one of the best places in the world to get up close and personal with the elusive leopard.

Arathusa Safari Lodge focuses its external social responsibility on assisting the Hananani Primary School in the local community of Dixie. Dixie is a small village with only 1 000 households, and children from this community used to have to walk kilometres to the nearest primary school in search of education.

Guests at Arathusa Safari Lodge can assist further through the Pack For A Purpose initiative HERE

Inyati Game Lodge’s employees are largely from the impoverished Bushbuckridge communities. Inyati recognises the socio-economic issues of the area and make every effort to address them in a progressive and mutually beneficial way. Inyati assists local schools and are a major partner in establishing a digital learning centre with Good Work Foundation (GWF) in the Dumphries community on the border of Inyati. GWF provides learning opportunities to school children, adult learning programmes and connects young rural South Africans to the huge opportunities in the growing economy of wildlife.

SUPER K9’s is a Captured In Africa tourism-funded conservation initiative to financially support anti-poaching dogs and rangers through our partners Pit-Track K9 Conservation & Anti-Poaching Unit in South Africa. For every booking Captured In Africa receives, $100 per person is contributed to the Super K9’s initiative – thank you.

None of this would be possible without your sustainable visit to Africa.
