Where you’ll be staying…

Machaba Camp is a traditional style camp nestling in the game-rich Khwai area. The Khwai Concession is a 35 000 hectare reserve located in the north-eastern section of the world-famous Okavango Delta and it shares its westerly border with the Moremi Game Reserve.

Based in a private concession on the edge of the Gomoti flood plain system, this camp has access to incredible wildlife and scenery. Depending on the time of year, the floodplains can be explored by vehicle or canoe.

Upstream of the iconic Victoria Falls, on the banks of the Zambezi River, lies Old Drift Lodge. The lodge boasts luxury accommodation overlooking the pristine Zambezi National Park, a mere 7 kilometers from the mighty Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Old Drift Lodge is nestled within a wild paradise frequented by elephant, buffalo, herds of sable, eland, zebra, giraffe, kudu, waterbuck and impala.

Inspired by safaris of the past, Verney’s Camp is situated in a teak forest that is synonymous with Hwange. With views over a waterhole, the animals put on a daily parade as they come down for their evening drink.

  • Daily meals, soft and alcoholic drinks (excluding premium) and snacks daily
  • All activities including guided game drives, mokoro (traditional dug-out canoe) rides, walking safaris, cultural visits, star-gazing and much more!
  • Airstrip transfers to camp

  • All internal ground transfers and flights between camps

  • International airfare to the start and from the end of your itinerary

All safari camps are solar powered, low impact and sustainable. Machaba Camp, Gomoti Plains and Verney’s Camp are actively involved in meaningful initiatives and offer support to villagers living in the remote areas in which these safari camps operate – some of which guests may visit during their safari with us.

Village Visits: At Verney’s in Zimbabwe, we offer a day trip to the local village and primary school at Hwange Main, which forms part of the camp’s Social Responsibility programme. In Botswana, you can join us on an excursion to Dithsipi and visit Gonnye Sethlare primary school.

The people of Africa don’t need pity, but they do need access to basic health services and education. Simply by travelling with us, gaining insight with a village visit – and indirectly contributing to social responsibility initiatives – you’ve already shown your support.

SUPER K9’s is a Captured In Africa tourism-funded conservation initiative to financially support anti-poaching dogs and rangers through our partners Pit-Track K9 Conservation & Anti-Poaching Unit in South Africa. For every booking Captured In Africa receives, $100 per person is contributed to the Super K9’s initiative – thank you.

None of this would be possible without your sustainable visit to Africa.
